Scarred over time
Scarred by your words
Scarred by the blades
Of anything in sight
Scarred by plastic
By broken glass
More intact than I
A quick slash to release the emotions
Changes torment into fading fires
Mighty winds into breezes
Monsoons leave behind a rainbow
Silence becomes sweet birdsong
A red trickle of life flows quickly drying
Wet tears dry on the corner of soft lips
Eyes glazed over beginning to focus
Clarity begins to overwhelm
Blade wiped down and hidden
Rising up now poison purged
Deep breath in thankful reprieve
She rises to her feet
Thankful that her tie-dyed skirt
Covers up the stigma
