You Can’t Escape From Yourself

I play music loud
To drown out my thoughts
Sing along the lyrics
Of somone else’s emotions

I play videogames for hours
To escape from reality
Legally killing
Those generation’s icons

I watch films with coffee
To pretend I’m not here
Going on crazy adventures
With no-one as they’re actors

I want to run away
From myself but I am me
As my mind’s within my skull
My disabilities hold me back

Stay, dear soul
You’re you
You’re loved
Scars fade
Strength will find you

Nothing hurts me at all in my world
