
I was listening to The Lemonheads and the song Being Around (see video) inspired me to jot down the poem below.
If I was the sun shining down on you
I’d be tempted to blister you with kisses
If I was the dark side of the moon
I’d blush red with a solar eclipse
If I was a crazy mad raging river
I’d keep you afloat in my shallows
If I was lush grass feeding the grazers
I’d ensure they chew the cud to remember you
If I was a forest deep and dense
I’d scatter deer from their thickets to give you refuge
Look
If I was this, that or the other
I’d reveal the positive to show you I care
It’s simple
