A high risk decision
Thrown through shattered window
Breathing slowly withers
Blood giggles absurd face paint
Chest compressions all but fail
Mouth to mouth harder than bagpipes
Wounds begin leering grins
And yellow fat shines sunrise
A crimson river slowly flows
Past nosy neighbours
Caressing careless feet
Eyes blank towards clouded sky
Face a poker game expression
Birds shrill in funeral song
Life goes on
It never ends
Until the next car
Fails to stop

Poignant and universally resonant. Brilliantly written on a tragic subject!

I’m hugely happy, thank you!! I love the comical song used as my musical punchline 🤣

Haha!! Thanks Ash, I had grim fun writing this despite the theme. The song was from 1956 🤣
