I thought of this simple verse as I contemplated life as I gazed into our garden. How very easily destruction can have it’s way yet at the same time, healing and love can be equally as easily gained.
In a fleeting moment
Shade can conceal beauty
Tears can wash away joy
The tide erases I Love You
Wind steals flower’s bloom
Clumsy words erase forever
And in the blink of an eye
One can die
In a fleeting moment
Sunlight highlights and shows
Tears of laughter delight
The tide can take us anywhere
Wind carries bluebirds’ song
Gentle words save lives
And in the blink of an eye
Life goes on

This is so amazing and thoughtful. I love how both stanzas begin with “in a fleeting moment,” which is a thought-provoking phrase on its own.

Very true. In the single blink of an eye a lot can happen. Lovely words.
