A Smile From A Snail

The above photo was taken up in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland in my dear friend Emma’s back garden. I was visiting and we ventured outside after rainfall as these gentle molluscs were out in droves. I naturally picked up a large one and put her in my arm. I managed to catch a photo of her on my phone and was thrilled to see that it appears she’s looking at the screen and smiling. Isn’t it cute?

Do you enjoy the therapeutic effects of the animal kingdom? I imagine you’re saying yes. I mean, how can you not smile at videos of funny goats, the gorgeous plumage of birds and even be astonished by the perfect design of sharks. Even our insect world boasts incredible beauty.

I’ll dig out the photos of Mandy the preying mantis soon! We saw loads of them whilst we were on holiday in Cyprus, I was going nuts with delight. They’re much smaller than I thought but nevertheless awesome!!

Thanks to nickwest87 for the snail inspiration. Check out his stunning blog, My Black and White World.
