Free
Free as a bird with the horizon in sight
Free as a shark unaware of her might
Free as a pigeon with one scabby leg
Disabled and limited
But never defeated
Free
Free as water flowing downstream
Free as sun rays making all gleam
Free as a meteorite hurtling towards earth
Causing mass strife
For a beautiful new life
No more arrows stinging back
Shackles now rusted split with a crack
Once weighed down
Thinking you’d drown
No more
Not now
Because you’re free
A beautiful new life
Now that you’re free

What a sweet short poem, Mouse. It thrills me to see you writing poetry and glorious that you even managed to shoe-horn in a pigeon with a scabby leg. You are a designer original.
